It's time for a new sort of resolution. Most resolutions come from a negative headspace. We feel guilty about our weight, or how few veggies we eat, or the amount of money we spent on something or other and we resolve to do the opposite because we feel guilty, shameful, or angry with ourselves.
The problem? Guilt and shame are horrible motivators. They just don't work.
Instead ask yourself: what do I want in my life so badly that I cannot wait until January to get started? What am I excited about? What feels like a reward instead of a punishment? Where is there joy? That’s my resolution. I call it an anti-resolution. Because it's not about "fixing" anything. It's about prioritizing and making room for the things we love.
